Fundamentals of technology transfer and valorization - Leuven
General context
VIB’s Innovation & Business team guides research valorization to create economic value. They have built up a sound expertise in intellectual property management, business development and new ventures over the last 20 years. To create more awareness on technology transfer opportunities and possibilities to valorize scientific results among the VIB researchers, the team organizes this training which opens up the basics of technology transfer and explains the process of valorization, as well as how your research projects may lead to research collaborations, patents and licenses or a spin-off company.
Next to a general introduction on technology transfer open to every researcher, this training specifically aims to offer VIB researchers a compact guide to pinpoint potential inventions and commercially interesting results eligible for innovation and business cases.
A presentation guiding the audience through the different avenues of bringing a fundamental research result to an economically valuable asset, followed by a Q&A session to allow the participants to address their specific questions on this topic.
Everybody at VIB interested to learn more on tech transfer opportunities in research projects. We specifically target candidate PhD students who have applied for an FWO SB fellowship (Aspirant Strategisch Basisonderzoek), to prepare for their interview with specific focus on the valorization part of the proposal.
This course is only open for VIB participants and is free.
