Introductory statistics in GraphPad Prism, Ghent - online
General context
The training is available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/7KqYZ9P9eIk
The training will be replaced by an online questions and answers session on May 18th.
Please watch the youtube video, try to analyze your data or if you don't have data yet try the exercises and send questions to Janick.Mathys@vib.be before May 15th .
Please register for this training if you want to be contacted with details about the training material and the questions and answers session.
For those who want to follow a live face-to-face training: these will not be organized before September.

The theoretical background obtained in the Basic statistics theory training will be applied in a hands-on session on real-life data using the statistical software GraphPad Prism.
In this hands-on session, you will apply the theory that you learnt in the Basic statistics theory training in Prism. The following topics will be covered:
- How to use Prism for simple statistical analyses: t tests, one-way ANOVA and non-parametric counterparts
- How to use Prism for more advanced statistical analyses: two-way ANOVA
- How to use Prism to create graphs
- Curve fitting in Prism
- Survival analysis in Prism
Participants can bring their own data to the training.
VIB Bioinformatics Core distributes the Prism software for free to VIB scientists, for more information you can visit the GraphPad Prism page on www.bits.vib.be. This is the reason why the training is limited to VIB scientists.
In this course we will not explain the basic statistical concepts that are used by Prism such as categorical versus quantitative data, normal distribution, mean, median, confidence intervals, statistical tests, p-values ... We will simply show how to use the software for statistical analyses. If you're not familiar with these concepts you should attend the Basic statistics theory training.
