Image Processing Workshop
General context
Recent years, imaging and image processing has become essential for life scientists dealing with scientific images. In Life science, microscopy and imaging have become more and more important. Imaging has evolved from showing examples images towards quantitative biology. Image processing is playing a crucial role and is becoming a means of quantification in life science.
This course is aiming at the starter level of image processing and will use commonly available tools (ImageJ/FIJI). The course consists of lectures, demos, and practical exercises. The first day will provide an overview of different tools, pitfalls in image acquisition, image/data integrity and will then focus on Fiji from the basics to writing macros. The second day will be used for deepening the knowledge and feature other tools for analyzing large datasets and creating quantitative analysis pipelines. The attendees will be able to use basic image processing tools and apply the learned concepts to their research.
A laptop will be provided for every participant.
