In this course you will learn how to use Research Data Management (RDM) in order to improve the writing of your publications and potentially increase its impact.
Starting from basic concepts together with hands-on activities and discussions, during the day you will learn about OPEN vs FAIR data, how to standardize and document your data and how all of this will help you to underpin your publication!
- Define, explain, and differentiate RDM, FAIR data and Open data.
- Find information and resources about RDM.
- Organize and structure data and documentation linked to experiments and publication during and after research.
- Apply minimal metadata standards for domain-specific data.
- Describe the impact of documentation on the publication preparation.
This course is an adaptation of the original course.
Researchers who want to improve the writing and impact of their publications by better managing their experimental data.
Trainers
Bruna Piereck
Bruna Piereck is a bioinformatics trainer coordinator working at VIB Technology Training and ELIXIR Belgium. She obtained a PhD in Molecular Genetics, with a focus on Bioinformatics from the Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil, in September 2019. During her PhD, she had the chance to collaborate with the university of Luxembourg and McGill university in Quebec for a short time. Ever since she has been involved with teaching and Since March 2022, she joined the Technology Training team at VIB.
