Responsible Research & Research Integrity
General context
During this training, different aspects of ‘responsible research’ will be discussed.
Some background information will be given on relevant legislation, but a larger part of this session will cover the topic of research integrity. What is research misconduct? How often does it occur? What about the grey areas of ‘questionable research practices’? How far can one go in manipulating an image? And how to correctly give credit through authorship? In a second part, some background will be given on how organizations have picked up sustainability and responsibility in their policies.
After completing this course on Responsible Research & Research Integrity, the participants should have the awareness, the necessary background information, and enough practical insights to become a true responsible scientist.
Next to highly interactive theoretical lectures, different practical exercises will be built in.
