VIB Technical support
Flemish Academics & Reseachers
Non-Flemish Academics & Researchers
Industry professionals
Location:

Leuven - Campus Gasthuisberg

Duration:

8 & 9 February 2024

General context

Tracer metabolomics is a powerful technology to study and understand metabolic alterations underlying disease, treatment, mutations, etc. However, the interpretation of tracer metabolomics results is highly technical, as the metabolites’ abundances, tracer incorporation and positions on the metabolic map all have to be jointly interpreted. This two-days course will introduce researchers to the concepts needed to understand the results of a tracer metabolomics analysis, and then show how to interpret them. Spatial metabolomics will also be discussed.

Approach

This training will be a combination of lectures and hands-on training. There will be a guided tour in the Metabolomics Core. The participants will need to bring their own laptop.

Event intended for

This course is aimed at any scientific personnel that is interested in learning the basics of metabolomics, or those who have experience with regular metabolomics but wish to know more about tracer metabolomics.
