General context

Unplugging for greater productivity, focus and job satisfaction!

Being always connected can have a major impact on both our concentration (during work) and the ability to mentally disconnect from work. That, in turn, impacts your concentration and productivity, and the negative spiral is set off. The consequences of always being on can weigh on our well-being as well as our productivity.

That is why during this training you will gain insight into your own disconnection profile and we will provide tools to deal with various forms of hyperconnectivity. You will go home with hands-on techniques to deal with the 3 forms of disconnection (digital, psychological and emotional) into practice.

Objectives

After this workshop ...

  • ... you know your connection profile and how it manifests itself in the workplace.
  • ... you recognize your digital drains and gains.
  • ... you can get rid of techno-stressors.
  • ... you have insight into your current work-life balance and how you can optimize it.
  • ... you can better manage expectations of yourself and others.
  • ... set priorities and make conscious choices.
  • ... you know how to create space for yourself and your environment.
  • ... you can take measures for conscious and balanced connectivity.
  • ... can respectfully set your boundaries and formulate needs.
Approach

To promote transfer, we  use "spaced learning" in which both before and after training several learning incentives are given through the learning platform. There is pre-work (intake and checklist 'My disconnection prolife')  and post-work (buddy challenge, learning platform) and during the workshop there will be several cases discussed and there will be room for individual reflection exercises.

Event intended for

All VIB staff. For executives, there is a seperate session on 23 May in Leuven.
